Stark Library, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), will give out free BINAXNOW™ at-home coronavirus tests kits at our drive up locations. Kits will be available starting on March 25.
"Access is at the core of our mission, and with libraries across the county, we are excited to partner with ODH to make testing more accessible to our community," said Jen Welsh, Senior Director of Public Services for Stark Library. “We’re thrilled any time we can remove barriers for those in our community.”
Locations distributing kits:
- Main Library | 715 Market Ave. N, Canton, Ohio 44702 | 330.452.0665
- Jackson Community Branch | 7487 Fulton Dr NW, Massillon, OH 44646 | 330.833.1010
- Lake Community Branch | 565 Market Ave. SW, Uniontown, Ohio 44685 | 330.877.9975
It is Governor DeWine’s goal to make these tests available and accessible in every Ohio county. The Ohio Department of Health has secured the purchase of at least 2 million tests that can be self-administered outside of a clinical setting. The BINAXNOW™ at-home COVID-19 antigen test provides rapid results in the safety and convenience of your home in minutes.
The test kits work through a telehealth connection, so patrons need a smartphone or computer with a webcam to use the kit. Appointments are not required to get a kit and for the protection of staff and patrons, test kits are available at the drive-up windows only. The kits are for use at home, not inside the library.
Getting an accurate test result requires test takers to have a Windows or Mac laptop with a microphone, speaker and webcam, a desktop computer with an adjustable webcam or an Apple or Android phone or tablet. Test takers must also have an email address and an internet connection. Test takers will need to download the NAVICA app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play App Store and create an account.
