Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Books and Dolly Parton with two children

Imagine a world where every child has books...

With Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, they can! The Imagination Library helps set children up for success by putting books into the hands and hearts of children across the world.

FREE Books for Kids!

No catch! It’s true. Children from birth to age five in Stark County can receive a monthly book in the mail from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library at no charge to the family. All books are age-appropriate and designed to ignite a life-long love of reading.

About the Imagination Library: Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write, Dolly Parton started the Imagination Library for the children within her home county and now has participating communities within the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Republic of Ireland. So far, the program has gifted nearly 130 million books to more than 1,452,000 children since 1995!

About Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Ohio: Ohio First Lady DeWine saw the impact the Imagination Library had in her own family and wanted every child in Ohio to have the same opportunity. In 2019 she established the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Ohio, which matches funds to help offset the cost of the program for local affiliates.
