How do I access LinkedIn Learning?

Getting started is easy!  You will need to use your LinkedIn account to login and use LinkedIn Learning.  or if you do not have an account, will need to create one. 

I don’t want to create a LinkedIn account, can I still use it?

You will need a LinkedIn account to access LinkedIn Learning and certificates. If you prefer not to register for an account, we urge you to download and save your completed courses ASAP. Without an account you won’t be able to access your certificates of completion.

Will I lose my progress in courses?

No. Your progress, achievements, and badges will carry over to your LinkedIn account. You will, however, need a LinkedIn account to access them.

How much does LinkedIn Learning access cost?

It’s free! All you need to get FREE access to more than 6,000 courses is your Stark Library card. Don’t have a Library card? Click here to sign up

Can I access LinkedIn Learning from home?  

You can access courses from anywhere you have a computer, speakers and internet connection. Just make sure to start your visit through the Stark Library website to get free access.

Can I still use LinkedIn Learning if I have late fees?

As long as your library card is in good standing you can access courses. If you have outstanding late fees, we can help with that! Just visit any of our librarians to have them waived and check out our fine free policy. If your card has been suspended, your access may be compromised— please see one of our librarians to learn more.

Are classes timed?

The great thing about LinkedIn Learning is that you can work at your own pace and around your schedule.

Your Privacy

Will LinkedIn store my library card number and PIN?

LinkedIn will encrypt and store the library card number, but your PIN will not be stored.

Do I need to give LinkedIn a lot of personal information?

You're the boss of your LinkedIn profile, so how much of your personal information you share is up to you.If you're seeking professional social development, you may want to fill out a full profile, but if you prefer obscurity, all you need to provide is an email address and initials. You can even use a one-off email address for increased privacy. (Learn more) The library only shares your card number as part of the verification process.

What is the Library’s stance on privacy?

The Library takes your privacy very seriously. If you choose to continue to access from LinkedIn, you will be subject to their privacy policies. A requirement that library users disclose personally identifiable information runs counter to the association’s Library Bill of Rights. Will my information be safe with LinkedIn?
