History

The Madge Youtz Branch, originally known as the Crystal Park Branch, was the first branch of the Canton Public Library, and it opened in 1929. It was renamed the Madge Youtz Branch in 1945, to honor Miss Youtz, a school principal and community philanthropist who created the Youtz Burns School Library Fund which was used to help furnish materials. The Branch opened in its current location in Fall 2003.
