Stark County District Library is thrilled to debut the concept design for the future home of the Jackson Township branch, which will be part of the North Park renewal and amphitheater project.
We’ve put together a short virtual tour of the beautiful new branch being designed by HBM Architects. HBM is a nationally recognized firm with a focus on libraries and the lead architect on the project is Jackson High graduate Megan Calnon.
You can explore the concept drawings in this PDF:

- October: Stark Library is working to finalize their bid package which will be approved by the Stark Library Board of Trustees at their regular meeting on October 16, 2018.
- November: Pending the receipt of a qualified bid, Stark Library intends to award the project to a contractor at their regular meeting on November 20, 2018.
A Library Inspired by You
In January, HBM hosted community focus groups to gather the community’s feedback on their vision for the future of the Jackson library. View the results of this intensive brainstorming session in the Visioning Book that is inspiring our design process.
About the Changes
In 2016, an engineering study revealed extensive water damage to the shell of the original Jackson Township branch. Surprisingly, we found it would ultimately more efficient to build an entirely new branch than to repair and renovate the old building.
To ensure uninterrupted service to the Jackson community, an interim branch location was established in The Marketplace at Nobles Pond. This storefront location serves as an incubator space to test many of the new technologies, features, and services the library plans to introduce system-wide.
