Spend an Evening with Literary Legends at the Stark Library Foundation’s Smart Party 3.0

March 18, 2019 (Canton, Ohio) – The Stark Library Foundation invites you to an evening of legend and lore at the Smart Party: 3.0 Literary Legends on Friday, April 5 at the Brookside Country Club.

The evening of literary delight will offer the chance to bemoan nevermore with Poe, paddle down the mighty Mississippi with Twain, and much more with special guests including Edgar Allen Poe, Maya Angelou, Hemmingway, the Cat in the Hat and Shakespeare. Guests are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite author (past or present) and enjoy hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar featuring the Star-crossed Lovers Spritzer signature cocktail, sign-Up Parties, $50s Club Raffle and Wine Pull to be followed by dinner, the famed Dessert Dash and Live Auction.

“The Stark Library Foundation is able to provide financial support for the Library through generous gifts from donors in the community,” said Paula Mastroianni, Development Director. “We are thrilled the community is willing to invest in its library system. We look forward to a full house at the Literary Legends event.”

Cocktails begin at 6 pm with dinner to follow. Tickets are $125 per person with the proceeds benefiting the Stark Library.  RSVP for tickets by March 29th at StarkLibrary.org/SmartParty.

ABOUT THE LIBRARY

One of the 9 largest library systems in Ohio – and the county’s oldest library – Stark Library serves the community through 10 locations, six mobile libraries, and a 24/7 digital branch.

A 2009 winner of the prestigious National Medal for library service, the Library serves more than 240,000 residents, annually circulating nearly 4 million items from its 1.5 million item collection and providing access to an additional 66 million items from lending networks throughout Ohio. Each year the library presents more than 9,000 programs for 166,000 attendees and provides 220,000 computer sessions on the publicly available computers found in each branch. In 2017, Stark Library served nearly 2 million visitors at all locations and online.

Today, as it reimagines itself, the Library is emerging as a national thought-leader with innovations such as its “no overdue fines” policy, the BikeSmart bike sharing network, passport services and school partnerships.
