Pro Football Hall of Famer Andre Reed to Host Special Story Time at Library
July 28, 2017 (Canton, Ohio) – Join Andre Reed, Hall of Famer and wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills, for a special story time at Stark County District Library on Friday, August 4.
The event will begin at 2 p.m. in the Main Library Atrium in downtown Canton. Andre will be reading Billy Buffalo’s Big Catch by Roselyn Kasmire. This family event is free to attend and will also include football themed activities and a question and answer session with the football great.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Stark County District Library offer the Hall of Fame Story Time annually during the Enshrinement Festival. The Hall of Fame’s collaboration with the Library is one of many efforts to encourage children and families to Start Smart by developing early literacy skills. Start Smart, Stay Smart and Share Smart are the Library’s three areas of focus as it reimagines itself as The Smart Store®.
Andre Reed played wide receiver in the NFL for 16 seasons, 15 with the Buffalo Bills. He played in four consecutive Super Bowls and was selected to the Pro Bowl seven times in a row. Reed, a four-time All-AFC choice, set career highs with over 951 career receptions, 88 total touchdowns, and 13,198 receiving yards. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
“The Library is thrilled to partner with the Hall of Fame to bring Andre for a special story time. It’s one of our most popular events! Kids love connecting with a famous role model and it gets them excited about reading,” said Marianna DiGiacomo, Director of Community Services for the Library.
Registration is not required for this free family event. Those who have questions about the event can contact the Main Library at 330-452-0665 or visit www.starklibrary.org. The Main Library is located at 715 Market Avenue North, Canton, Ohio 44702.
