Joseph French Joins Stark County District Board of Library Trustees
May 3, 2018 (Canton, Ohio) – Joseph French has been appointed to the Board of Library Trustees by the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas for a seven-year term beginning May 1, 2018 and ending April 30, 2025. French holds a Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree from Ashland University in Early Childhood Education- Curriculum and Instruction. He is the CEO of Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health and is pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership.
In addition to his new involvement with the Library, French is active in the Stark County community serving on the boards for Family Council of Stark County, Ohio Children’s Trust Fund Regional Committee, Leadership Stark County, The BBB of Central Stark and Greater West Virginia Charitable and Educational Fund Board, and Adventure Place Child Care Center Advisory Board. He has also served on the boards of the ABOUT Magazine, St Anthony/All Saints Parish Council, the Early Childhood Resource Center, Ohio United Way, the United Way of Greater Stark County, TEACH Ohio and the Sisters of Charity Foundation Early Childhood Committee.

French has received several awards of distinction including: Ohio Association for the Education of Young Children Program Administrator of the Year, Ystark! Twenty Under Forty Award, the Dehoff Emerging Philanthropist Award, Irene Bandy-Hedden Leadership Award , the National Association of Social Workers Ohio Chapter Region 8 Public Citizen of the Year and most recently was named one the Thirty Faces of Leadership by Leadership Stark County.
The Board is a made up of individuals appointed by the Stark County Commissioners and the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas. They are appointed for seven-year terms and hold fiduciary responsibility for Stark Library and include the following community members: Steve Pittman, President; Susan Rodgers, Vice President; Edmond Mack; Bob Belden, Sally Efremoff and Robin Mingo-Miles. French will be replacing John Mroczkowski.
