Demand Access to #EBOOKSFORALL

Millions of people prefer to access their books, movies, and music digitally. In fact, you borrowed more than 374,200 eBooks and eAudiobooks from us last year, making the online library our busiest branch by far—but this could all be changing.

Macmillan Publishers, one of the country’s largest publishing companies, recently announced policy changes that will impact you as an e-reader.

Beginning November 1, 2019, Macmillian plans to impose stricter lending policies on ebooks. They want to limit Libraries to purchasing one copy of each new eBook for the first eight weeks after it releases.

What does this mean for you?

This embargo means you’ll wait longer for fewer available copies, forcing you to choose between waiting months (or longer) for your holds to become available, or buying the book on your own.

What can you do?
