THE SMART STORE - Where Everything is FREE!
THE SMART STORE® is an unexpected way of describing a library, but think about it. Doesn't it make perfect sense? You go to stores everyday to buy things to make your life better. Some of the things you buy are for pleasure, some are basic necessities like food and clothing, and still many are for your personal education and improvement. We all want to be SMART!
At Stark Library, we believe you are constantly seeking to improve your life. That is our mission. To help our community ... start, stay and share SMART. And we do so for FREE!
We start smart with the youngest in our community...our children. Our START SMART focus is designed to help families teach their children strong reading and basic life skills. This early childhood development mission allows us to provide FREE programs, events and many other resources to help parents develop in their children a lifelong desire to learn.
Most of us would describe ourselves as smart. And that's why we offer a second focus in our mission: lifelong inspired learning. But there are many in life who don't have access to resources that keep us on the learning track. Stark Library offers all of its primary resources for FREE — books, ebooks, DVDs, periodicals, genealogy research, and much, much more. Just perform a quick search on this website and you won't believe how many resources are available on just about any topic you can dream of!
Finally, it is incumbent on all of us — and an obvious privilege of being smart — to share our smarts with the community around us. Our third focus in our mission, community development, is inspired by the fact that each of us at some point in time needs a helping hand. Our community outreach mission manifests itself in the Bookmobile, community assistance programs, and the resources we offer on our website that bring people in touch with their community through their local branches.
We hope you find what you're looking for at THE SMART STORE. If not, please contact us in person, by phone or by email at one of our branches, or by using any of the contact forms available throughout the website.
